Yet in America, which holds the status of super-power and exporter of culture and trend to the rest of the world, there exists a growing segment of society which believes that it is only matter of time before science and modern medicine will be able to conquer death. The human genome programme is thought to have mapped the complete human genetic code, opening the doors to the conquest of disease and potentially, old age. Consequently the practise of cryogenics is increasing in popularity; people pay large amounts of money to have their central nervous system removed after death and stored in low temperature vaults in the hope that one day medical knowledge will provide the technique to restore them back to life. Modern man is prepared to belive that science and medicine will recreate him, yet when his Creator informs him that He will recreate mankind the dsibelievers mockingly reject."

Taken from "Death" - by Dr. Asra Rasheed

was salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

bismillahir rahmanir raheem

insha'Allah, I was going to post a whole article: it's called "Ramadhan in History" by Sheikh Abdullah Haqim Quick. Now we got a week off, al-hamdulillah!

yesterday al-hamdulillah, i went to this weekly study circle, after an invitation, and al-hamdulillah it was excellent! every week, brothers come from places and they give short little talks and tell stories. yesterday, a brother was telling the story of Prophet Yunus (Jonah) (a.s) and how he ended in the stomach of a whale. the Pharoah of Egypt was also discussed. the main point of that talk however, was that we should always remember Allah at times of ease and happyness. because what we tend to do is turn to Allah at times of hardships and diffculty. But if we remeber Allah at ALL times, then Allah will remember us when we turn to Allah at times of hardship, ease or suffering! al-hamdulillah!

as salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

bismillahir rahmanir raheem

as salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakathu

insha'Allah, I'm going to post ahadith, Qur'anic ayat, and articles or other things I come across regarding Ramadan, and the history, virtues and blessings of Ramadan. al-hamdulillah, Ramadan is once again approaching us, and is not very far away, and for us to take advantage of this month of blessings, we have to know how to achieve the blessings of Allah (s.w.t) and attain true Iman. Insha'Allah, I'm going to start today:

Abdullah Ibn 'Abbas tells that the Prophet (s.a.w) used to become unusually kind and generous during ramadan. In his famous book, he wrote about Linear and Quadratic equations. In his books he wrote about so many different kinds of algebraic equations and things, he showed how to do things like multiply out this kind of expression (a + b x) (c + d x)

"Musa al-Khwarizmi (780--850 A.D.) a native of Khwarizm, who lived in the reign of Mamun-ar-Rashid, was one of the greatest mathematicians of all times. He composed the oldest Islamic works on arithmetic and algebra which were the principal source of knowledge on the subject for a fairly long time. George Sarton pays glowing tribute to this outstanding Muslim mathematician and considers him "">"one of the greatest scientists of his race and the greatest of his time".' He systematised Greek and Hindu mathematical knowledge and profoundly influenced mathematical thought during mediaeval times. He championed the use of Hindu numerals and has the distinction of being the author of the oldest Arabic work on arithmetic known as Kitab-ul Jama wat Tafriq. The original version of this work has disappeared but its Latin translation Trattati a" Arithmetic edited by Bon Compagni in 1157 at Rome is still in existence."

I think it'll be worth it , insha allah, to have a deeper and more through look through this section of Net Muslims - #...

Then you see how much ISLAM has contributed to world developement in everything!! al-hamdulillah!

as salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

bismillahir rahmanir raheem

As salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

Salah: Praying properly..

Over the last two weeks, at school in Jummah, Mr Hoque has been giving some talks about salah and every week he's stressed how how we should offer salah in the correct manner. He talked about how in Salah, we are actually having a conversation with Allah, and that we are Praising and Glorifying our Lord. So when we are doing so, we shouldn't rush our salat, and 'steal' from salah. for example, while in ruku we should recite "subhana rabbi-yal azeem" slowly, and we should take our time to make sure we are reading properly.

Mr. Hoque mentioned one hadith, about a man at the masjid, he prayed his salah, and came to the Prophet, and greeted him, the Prophet (s.a.w) said "Wa alaykum salam, go back and pray again." So the man did, and returned, the Prophet once again said "Go back and Pray again". Theird time the man prayed and came, the Prophet replied the same again. this time the man said "O Prophet, I have prayed salah in the best way I know, tell me the way I should observe prayer" (i.e., tell me how to pray properly, because you keep telling me to g back and pray again)

the Prophet (s.a.w) said:
1) you should make Wudu properly;
2) Stand erect in Qiyam (standing position) (not be lazy, stand straight)
(these are two things I remember, Im not sure, but there are maybe more advice the Prophet (s.a.w) gave to this man)

So this hadith and another hadith where a sahabi reported that Nabi Muhammad (s.a.w) used to when reciting surahs in salah, recite them slowly, ayah by ayah, pausing for each ayah, summed up what Mr Hoque had been talking about for the last two weeks, make Wudu properly, and correctly, and pray salah with humilty, and understanding.

As salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

bismil-lahir rahmanir raheem

as salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

Rasullah (SAWS) said: "Allah will give shade to seven, on the Day when there will be no shade but His. I woke up today for Fajr, and al-hamdulillah, I'm so happy! Recently, I've been able to get up quite easily, al-hamdulillah! And I thought on my alarm clock it said 6:15, so I was like I better hurry, because the time for Fajr is going to end
soon. So I performed Wudu, and I prayed Fajr, and then like I do most of the time, I switched on my computer and it's 5:33!! Subhan Allah! Al-hamdulillah! Me posting an entry at this time, I think it's the earlist I've posted anything, so I've got a new record for myself!

Al hamdulillah! I think our Prayer Room at school is getting more people coming in at lunchtimes to pray, al hamdulillah! I remember the days when sometimes there would be only 4 or 5 people praying!! And I'd say about a couple of hundred other healthy and fit Muslims out in the playground, getting along with their lives, playing football, chatting with friends, 'killing time', when they forgotten their purpose, what they're here for, what they are to do, and how they're supposed to do so. They've forgotten about Salah, the first thing that Allah (s.w.t) will question us about on the day of judgement, but they seem to know a lot about other things, and are very keen to be first in those things!!

Like this brother was saying the other in the Masjid, no Muslim will argue that 5 times daily Prayer is not farz, they just won't practise it! They just won't pray! And the brother praised Allah (s.w.t) for giving us all , present at that time for Maghrib jama'at, for giving us the taufiq to pray in the best of places in the world.

as salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

Bismil-lahir rahmanir raheem
as salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

"Alan" Converted to Islam

Subhan Allah! St. helens in Washington. We learnt about one of the most dangerous and most violent volcanic eruptions ever!!

We watched a little documentary about the eruption of this volcano, on May 18, 1980, where 57(or 61?) people were killed. Some of the facts and figures that came out of our research and case studies were things like:

- the power of that specific volcanic eruption was the quivalent of 27,000 Nuclear bombs!!
- the sound of the eruption could be heard 700 miles away!
- everything living thing in a 17 mile radius was killed
- ALL the birds in that area were killed!
- AND there were pyroclastic (volcanic) bombs and large rocks from the volcano, the size of houses!! travelling at 700 m/p/h!! and knocking down everything in their path!

Truly devastating, and indeed powerful!! And 57 (or 61) is alot of people killed, but in contrast to other major eruptions and earthquakes, thats quite a small number, the very reason being the American Government's evacuation of the whole area, and because not alot of people live in the Cascades area anyway.

On that documentary we watched, this man was talking about how at noon, he was coming back from Church, and he had to switch on all the lights in his house, because all the Ash and Debris that came flyng out of the volcano, into the atmosphere blocked out ALL the sunlight, and I remember the man said that at noon it was "like midnight"!!

Such a devatsating and powerful "shaking" of the Earth, should make us remember the day of Resurrection! We find many Ayat in the Qur'an regarding the day of resurrection, when ALL things will be destroyed!! And all of Mankind will be brought before Allah (s.w.t)!

"In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful"

"When the earth is shaken to her (utmost) convulsion,
And the earth throws up her burdens (from within)..." (99:1-2)

"O mankind! Fear your Lord. Lo! the earthquake of the Hour (of Doom) is a tremendous thing." I think this story is beautiful, and shows wonderfully how
zealous the Sahaba were, how sincere they were, and how great intention they had
in their hearts.

This story is about a well known Sahabi, Anas bin Nadhr (r.a) He was one of
the Sahaba who couldn't take part in the Battle of Badr, and he regretted this
fact, as he always had intention to fight alongside the Prophet (s.a.w) and
achieve Martyrdom. He longed for a chance to where he could make amends for
Badr.

The Battle of Uhud, the Muslims were still outnumbered, but in the beginning
of the battle, the Muslim Army was because to gain the upper-hand, and were
fighting well. In the Muslims side, 50 archers were instructed by the Prophet
(s.a.w) to guard an area near the rear of Mount Uhud, from enemy cavalry.

The Muslims were fighting fierce and strong, and it seemed victory wasn't far
away, so the Archers, disobeying the Prophet's (s.a.w) instructions, left their
positions, and began to collect the booty from the battle. Seeing this, Anas bin
Nadhr (r.a) saw Sa'ad bin Ma'az (r.a) passing in front of him, (leaving the
position which the Prophet (s.a.w) instructed the archers to guard ) and he
(Anas) shouted out:

"O Sa'ad, where are you going? By Allah! I smell the
fragrance of Paradise coming from Mount Uhud."

Saying this, Anas threw himself into the heaviest of fighting going on, and
fought until he met his fate!

After the battle, it was found that his body was so badly mutilated and
injured that only his sister could identify him, and that from only his fingers!

Subhan Allah! This has got to be one of the most beautiful stories.

As salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

Al-hamdulillah!

This is a quite an old story now, but a wonderful one it will always be! Subhan Allah!

[-------------------------------]

JERUSALEM (AP) -

Joseph Cohen moved from the United States to Israel as a devout Jew in 1998, but within three years he had converted to Islam and become Yosef Mohammed Khatib, according to a report broadcast Thursday on Israel TV.

Now he refuses to say the word Israel, choosing instead to call the area "Palestine." His four children study the Quran, the Muslim holy book, instead of the Torah, its Jewish counterpart.

It was while living in the desert town of Netivot that Khatib met a sheik from the United Arab Emirates through an Internet chat about Israel. Khatib said he spent hours corresponding with the sheik, discussing theology. Gradually he began to see Judaism as racist and turned toward Islam after reading the Quran, he told Channel 10 TV. The report did not say where he lived in the United States or give his age.

Last year he told his wife of 10 years, Luna, also a devout Jew from the United States, that he wanted to convert to Islam.

"I said, `Listen, I love you very much ... and I have to be honest with you,"' Khatib said in the TV interview. "I read the Quran and I agree with everything it says in the Quran, and if I continue saying that I'm a religious Jew, I would be a liar."

The family converted together and moved from Netivot to an Arab neighborhood in east Jerusalem. The children went from being top in their classes on Judaism studies to being well-versed in Islam, he said.

Instead of supporting the Israeli Orthodox Jewish political party Shas, Khatib now supports the radical Islamic Hamas and believes an Islamic state should be set up where Israel and the Palestinian areas are now located.

He praised Hamas for setting up social services for Palestinians but dodged questions about the other side of the Islamic group - suicide bombings and other attacks against Israelis. The United States has declared Hamas a terror group.

Wearing the white skullcap and robes of a religious Muslim , Khatib denied his Jewish past, insisting that he is 100 percent Muslim. He made a parody of a blessing that observant Jews say every morning, in which they thank God for not making them gentiles.

"Blessed are Thou, Lord Our God," Khatib began in the traditional
Jewish blessing, but ended it with, "for not making me a Jew."

Associated Press Newswires
Copyright 2002. The time spent exchanging e-mail addresses, and hotmail accounts amongst us is comparable to how the Companions of our beloved Prophet Muhammad saws used to busy themselves in learning the religion of Allah (weather in studying or in action) from each other.

There are without a doubt many beautiful aspects of the Internet, and a huge opportunity exists for much good to come out of our time there. One can spend time learning about the Correct Islamic Beliefs, or one may choose to learn the correct way of praying, or one may research and learn a part of the Qur’aan, all in the span of a few moments. One may make new friends who will help him or her strive in the way of Allah, or one may choose to post in message boards learning from others or teaching them. But with all the good and beautiful things out there, we have to be serious and realize that the evil on the Internet is even more then this, and the Shaitaan, may he be cursed by Allah is lurking around everywhere looking for us, waiting for us to slip to take us further away from Allah.

After seeing how many Muslims, including myself use the Internet I have compiled a list of observations that we as Muslims should be aware of before we begin spending our time on the Internet.

Before we begin, I would like to remind all of us of one of the sayings of our Prophet Muhammad saws: “Amr ibn Maimoon Awdi (Radhiallaahu Anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) advised one person, ‘Appreciate five things before five (things): a) Your youth before old age; b) Your good health before your sickness; c) Your wealth before your poverty; d) Your free time before your involvement; and e) Your life before your death.” (Mishkat pg.441; Me’raaj)

E-Mail

The average Muslim receives anywhere from 10-30 e-mails a day, some of us even more. Many of these e-mails, though they are from friends, and fellow Muslims, contain only that which will use up your time. Weather it is spend in reading, or replying or sharing it with others, many of the Muslims find that they spend an hour or more engrossed in this activity alone! I swear by Allah, the Most High, that if we spent just half of that time reading the Qur’aan, or pleasing those whom we have Islamic Obligations to (Parents, Spouses, Children, etc.) we would see a increase in our Blessings, and would see happiness in our lives that the Internet could never give us.

Message Boards

Another popular way for Muslims to interact with each other is Message Board. Upon closer examination however, you will notice many of the postings are useless, even incorrect, filled with teachings that are contrary to the Pure Islam. The reason being everyone wants to say something, but not everyone is qualified to talk on that which they talk about. The other side Negative Aspect is that some people enjoy message Boards so much that the time they spend on it, exceeds, the time they spend on other Islamically Sound extra curricular activities, or even Obligations we have as Muslims! It has become common for a Muslim to spend time he should be spending taking care of his work, or spending at the masjid, glued to his computer screen. It has become common for the Muslim Woman to ignore her obligations at home to instead post away on a Message Board. It is not something strange that a man will come home and find his wife glued to the computer screen, reading a post on a Message Board. The house however, is still dirty and the food remains uncooked.

Chatting

Online Chatting, or Instant Messaging has become just another way for most of us to engage into idle time. You will find that some of the Muslims spend hours a day chatting on the Internet. Though it is useful for making friends and sharing information with each other, a lot of it is useless speech, which contains no benefit. Not only that a lot of it falls into that which is haram. It is common and accepted that people joke; by way of lying or that they engage in backbiting and spreading rumours. Prayer is delayed; Sunnah prayers are left off in pursuit of this wasteful activity, and sins are earned. The small good in this activity makes one feel as if they are doing something beneficial but in reality it is far away from being that which brings us closer to Allah.

Too Much Knowledge

Another terrible aspect of the Internet is possibly that you can learn too much, too quickly. The Companions of the Prophet saws used to learn slowly but they acted on what they knew. Now, with the Internet we are able to read thousands of words a day, but our actions do not increase any. The next day we are still on the computer reading more, yet acting less.

Free Mixing

Undoubtedly this is one of the most Disastrous Sins in Islam, it leads to the corruption of not only the one doing it but society in general. Most of the activities listed above, either directly or indirectly are one of the ways many of us fall into free mixing.

The Prophet saws forbade and man and woman to be alone that is not mahram, stating that the Shaitaan is the third! But now it is common for the Muslim man and Woman to spend many hours engrossed in conversation with each other, except that they think it is ok, since it is over the Internet. You find the Muslim man and Women chatting and joking amongst each other in a room filled with others. Except again, they think its ok, since they are on the Internet. You find the Muslim Man knows personal details about the Muslim Woman and the Muslim Woman knows personal details about the Muslim Man. The Prophet saws said that All Religions have a Distinguishing Quality and that Modesty is this Quality in Islam! Can we imagine Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, Aaisha acting in the manner that we do online?

The Amount of free missing is sickening; you find that the Men have 1,000’s of other women to compare their wife too, and that the Women have 1,000’s of men to compare their husbands too. When a man upsets his wife, she imagines, so and so would not treat me like this, and she begins to have hatred in her heart for the one Allah blessed her with. Or the man when he is upset with his wife sees the pleasing ways of other women and is quick to point that out to his wife. What is wrong with us? Should we even know the behaviour and personality of people other then our spouses? Should we be comparing them? Is this the marriage that is blessed or the Marriage that is on the brink of destruction.

The Families are becoming corrupted. We have already heard stories of people leaving their spouses for people they found on the Internet, if the Muslims who are married are falling into these trials, we can only imagine what it is like for the young people in this Ummah who are not married.

It is common these days that Muslims have girl friends, and boy friends. If you ask them where they met each other, we are not surprised that they say they met on the Internet. What can begin, as an innocent conversation without evil intentions can quickly become that which is detested by Allah.

How are we to fix this Problem?

Firstly, the obligation lies upon the Rulers of the Muslims and those who are in authority to educate the people and let them know of the dangers of the Internet, possibly even limiting their access. Then the obligation falls on the Men to educate their family, possibly even restricting access. Then the Obligation falls on the Mothers of our children to stop them and prevent them from using the Internet in a way that brings them closer to the Shaitaan, instead of Allah.

In all honesty, the little bit of good that one finds on the Internet can easily be found by reading the Qur’aan, going to the Masjid, and spending time studying Islam, spending time with the scholars, striving in the way of Allah and many other things. It is sad to see that some of us feel compelled to use this service knowing that at some time most of us will fall into the harmful aspects. With every door to Fitnah, there is a larger one lurking near by, and I feel that it is better to close the door to this fitnah, and to Protect ourselves and our families from the Punishment of Allah.

Allah, the Most High Knows Best.

May Allaah send blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad - Aameen.

REF:

Posted by "Soft Heart" @ Sv

As-salamu Alaykum

Well, I had Cisco for the last two days. Nothing too interesting, but a BIG Announcent for myself, final Semester exam - September 14!
Insha Allah, I'm going to start revising for it a bit later on, because I still have to finish Chapters 12-14, and 15! And two days to finish them in. Insha Allah, shouldn't be much of a problem, because chapters 12-14 are really short, compared to the other chapters, they're like a couple of pages!

Also, I think for tommorow we got our final semester labs scheduled, that's going to be easy apparently, but in the previous labs, where we had to make Cables and stuff, I didn't do too well..

and al hamdulillah, the weather for the last two days has been HOT!!! I don't how hot it was, but I'm guessing it was around 25 +, which we don't get alot of or very often in London! But I prefer colder weather, it's all much 'cooler'

And there's some news on BBC, it's all a joke really, but a Morrocan man, Mounir El Motassadek, was charged over September 11, for apparently being the supporter of a cell, and having links with two of the Hijackers. Ya Allah! Subhan Allah!

Apparently this brother knew Muhammad Atta, and managed bank accounts for hijackers, who got large sums of money to pay for flying lessons, Subhan Allah...

Lies, all Lies!!!

La hawla wala Quwwata Illabillah!

Al-hamdulillah, there's an interesting Q & A at Islam-QA...
# 658
Dealing with a bad Temper - Islam-QA

Astagh firullah!
I have a very bad habit, I get angry so quickly, and then I end up shouting at anything and everyone, and i throw things around...
People just really, really make me so angry... and I feel they do it on purpose! I’ve also now realised how far behind I am in my Cisco work and stuff. I have to complete reading some chapters and then filling in the journal…and then start revising for the semester exam!!! And the sad thing I have to go in for Cisco next Tuesday!
Subhan ‘Allah!

Today I found out more about the big conference organised by Hizb-ut-Tahrir for September 15.

“Beyond September 11th, the role of Muslims in the West.”

I read the Programme for the event and it sounds really interesting, and sounds like it’s going to be a wonderful event, with excellent talks and presentations… but, I doubt I’ll be allowed to go! Things always turn out like this! This is really out of order…and the reasons for not allowing me to go to such events are funnier than the reasons people use to sell Alcohol in ‘Halal’ restaurants!!

I recently got into Fireworks, and I’m trying to learn the basic of Fireworks, but it’s really complicated... all these functions and tools! I know they all have a job, but there’s just so many and it seems worthless to have so many things, but then that brings me back to the first thing I said… “They all have a job” and they’re probably the most important tools for some users.

There’s this wicked picture I found of Al Aqsa Martyrs training with AK’s:

There are more, but this is one of my faveourites!
:)

I found this really cool little tool! There was a link from CG by Abu Dujanah...
"Key"
basically you can type Arabic with this really easily, you just click on the corresponding letters and the Arabic comes up on the top, and then you just copy and paste! It's amazing! subhan 'Allah!

As-salamu ‘Alaykum wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatuh

Yesssssss....

Ok, insha 'Allah... it should work now!

It's originally in Arabic, translated in English by brother Abu Dujana (from CG) May Allah (s.w.t) reward him.

---------
One of the Salaf entered a field, and he was hungry, tired, so he wanted to eat, and his stomach was 'rumbling'. His eyes went to the trees, so he saw an apple, and reached for it, then he eat half of it under the protection of Allah, then he drank from the lake near the field. After that, he realised that he was not aware of what he was doing due to his hunger, and said to himself: Woe to you! How do you eat from someone elses goods without permission, so he swore that he wold not leave the place until he finds the owner of the field, and asks him to make what he had eat from him permissable, so he looked around until he found a door and knocked on it. The owner came out and asked him about what he wants . . . He said: "I entered your garden, that is next to the garden, and took this apple and eat half of it, then I remembered it is not mine, and I want you to excuse me and forgive me for this mistake", so the man said, "I wont forgive you, nor allow you ever, except with one condition?" So he said (and he is Thaabit bin Nu'maan), "what is this condition?" The man said: "to marry my daughter" He said: "I'll marry her". The man then said: "But my daughter is blind and cannot see, dumb and cannot speak, deaf and cannot hear" So Thaabit bin Nu'maan began thinking and considering - what a disaster - what's he going to do? Then he remembered that the tribulation he has got by having this woman, and taking care of her and serving her is better than to eat from the food (sadeed) of hellfire due to what he ate from that apple, and he remembered that his days in the dunya are numbered. So he accepted marrying her, and he wisheed for the reward from Allah, the lord of the worlds.

The day of marriage came, and the man was very worried: "How will I enter upon a woman who doesn't, or see, or hear?!" So he got felt confused and in a dillemma, and wished that the earth swallows him before that happens (i.e. he goes to her), but he relied upon Allah and said: "Laa Hawla wa laa quwata illa billah, wa inna lilah wa inna ilayhi raji'oon"...so he went to her, and as soon as he entered, he stood up and said to him, "assalamu 'alayk wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh", when he saw her, he remembered what he had imagined of the hoor il-'ayn in paradise. After remaning a bit quiet, he said: "what is this?" So hears, sees, and speaks, so he informed her what her father had to told him, so she said: "My father spoke the truth and didn't lie" "What of what he told me then, how is it true?" She replied,

"My father said I am dumb, because I have never said a word of haraam, nor have I ever spoken to a man whom it is not permissable to speak to. . . [he said] i am deaf, because I have never sat it in a place of backbiting and gossip or tale-telling. . . [he said] I am blind because I have never looked at a man who was not permissable for me"

So ponder and look at how Allah united between this pious woman and this pious man. - [END].

Subhan 'Allah!

Posted by Sister Muslimah17 @ Sound Vision

I don't think there's any point in adding a counter now, I mean it's quite some time now since the birth of this blog, but just for the sake of it, it's under the misc. section...

"A Palestinian man from Beit Lahia detained by Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip half buried, hand cuffed and blindfolded. Also, they obviously know they're in the wrong, and know that they will be punished for such acts they involve themselves in.

Al-Hamdulillah, I was happy and surprised to see that nearly half the country was now under Shari'ah law. What is more beautiful than to write the history of the Ummah with both the ink of the scholar and his blood, such that the map of Islamic history becomes coloured with two lines: one of them black, and that is what the scholar writes with the ink of his pen; and the second red, and that is what the martyr writes with his blood. And more beautiful than this is when the blood is one and the pen is one, so that the hand of the scholar, which expends the ink and moves the pen, is the same hand that expends his blood and moves the nations. The extent to which the number of martyred scholars increases, is the extent to which nations are delivered from their slumber, rescued from their decline and awoken from their sleep.

So history does not write its lines except with blood. Glory does not build its lofty edifice except with skulls. Honour and respect cannot be established except on a foundation of cripples and corpses. Not a word!

He was an old guy, and your always taught respect, and stuff like that, when you see someone you offer Salam, young, old , whether you know them or not, just when you see your brother you salam him!

So this man, he looks at me, he knows I salamed him right now, and he blanked me! And then you won’t believe what he done, he went into the Prayer Hall and he salamed everyone there!! All the brothers in the prayer hall. I don’t know if that makes him a hypocrite or anything, but that’s what it looked like, I think of it like hypocrisy in a way! It’s like why? I don’t mean to insult this brother in any way, or back-bite, but that is really not the right thing to do! The Prophet (s.a.w) instructed us to return Salam when we are greeted!

If I can remember correctly, forgive me if this is wrong, but according to what I learnt, if you hear someone Salam you, then it is Wajib on you to return the greeting!

But I’m not too bothered, al-hamdulillah! … Because the Prophet (s.a.w) said:

“The best in conduct among you before Allah is he who greets first.”
(At-Tirmidhi)

So I’m going to retire with that.

And pray that Allah forgives us all our sins.

Ameen.

I dont' usually take these kind of quizzes, but I saw this particular one on Cindy's Blog! and I thought, "this is quite cool!" so then I said "let this be my first Quiz thing on my Blog..."

12.5 %

My weblog owns 12.5 % of me.
Does your weblog own you?

So.. In A.H. 43 death caught up with Amr Ibn Al-Aas in Egypt, where he was ruling. He recaptured his life in the moments of departure saying, "In the first part of my life I was a disbeliever, and I was one of the fiercest people against the Messenger of Allah, so if I had died then, the fire would have been my fate. Then, I swore allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, and there was no person more dear to me than he and more glorious in my eyes than he. If I wanted to describe him, I could not, because I was not able to fill my eyes with him on account of being in awe of him. If I had died back then, I would have wished to be of the inhabitants of Paradise. Then after that I was tested with command and with material things. I do not know if they were for me or against me."

Then he raised his sight to the sky in awe, calling upon his Lord, the Merciful, the Magnificent, saying, "O Allah, I am not innocent, so forgive me. I am not mighty, so help me. And if Your mercy does not come to me, I will surely be of those destroyed."

And he continued in his yearning and his prayers until his spirit ascended to Allah and his last words were, "There is not god but Allah."

[Compiled from "Men Around the Messenger" by Khaalid Muhammad Khaalid. pp. 485,486]

Al-Hamdulillah!

I found this beautiful picture of the Prophets (s.a.w) Mosque in Madinah!
It's so amzing, subhan'Allah!
Masjidun Nabi

Today at Clear Guidance.com ,
This thread...

'Umm Bur Bur' posted a link to a video clip from "the message"
The Message!

and this video clip feautured the sad part of the film, that reconstructs how the Slave Masters, the Pagans,
tortured Bilal (r.a) because of his belief in One God, Allah! I said that it was 10:30 for Isha, and we were like “Ok, that’s all right then.”

So, it was something like 10:24 or 10:25, and we left for the mosque, and when we got there, we saw the weirdest thing, people walking away from the mosque, and going to their homes!! So we asked this brother outside the mosque, and he said the Isha jam’at was at 10:10! We were like, “oh man, how could we get the time wrong.” And it was really all my fault! The brother said you can still go in and pray.

We did, and we prayed our Isha Salah, and after my cousin had finished, I went over to him, we were waiting for our brother, and we discussed how it was so beautiful, this moment in time, the masjid was empty, it was just us here, and the Ulama in the mosque, it was so beautiful! It was so quiet, and whatever we said echoed, it was amazing, Subhan ’Allah!

I also said that we could’ve prayed in jam’at, but we just came into the mosque and prayed on our own. Then I told my cousin that the reason for my mistake in the first place, saying that the jam’at was at 10:20, was because of a reading error. In the mosque the times were written in digital format, you know like on a digital watch. And on the prayer timetable, Salat ul Isha was written above Salat ul Jummah, and it was written like this:
Isha : 10:10
Jummah : 1:30

And after Maghrib jam’at, everyone goes to the back lines to pray their Sunnah and Nafl, and I was sitting quite far away, and so I got a bit muddled up, and assumed the time for Isha was 10:30! Oh well, that’s like ancient history now, but it was very fun at their house, and their masjid is beautiful! Subhan 'Allah!

Published by Jamiatul Ulama (KZN)

Vol. 3 No. 4 - December 1996, Sha'baan 1417

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Life as a New Muslim

I am Fathima Liebenberg, a white Muslim woman converted to Islam in 1995. I am very proud to say! I am a Muslim, but if it was not for my son I would never have been a Muslim. For me it was a hard and long struggle because it cost me my job, friends and family

My life before Islam

I was a very pious Christian who went to the Pentecostal churches. I used to collect the street children and take them to the church and Sunday school. My life consisted only of reading and studying the bible, until my son told me about Islam.

My son came home one day and said, ‘Mummy! Why don’t you become a Muslim?’ I was shocked at the very idea and said, ‘Never’.

He said, ‘Mummy! Islam is such a pure and clean religion, they pray five times a day’.

That is when I decided to read the books and the translation of the Noble Qurãn. The more I read the Qurãn, the more I was convinced that Islam was for me. I turned to Allah and finally I found peace and tranquillity. I hid it from my family until one day I decided to phone my brother and tell him I was now a Muslim.

My brother was so shocked, because we were very devoted and pious Christians, and I was the only one to be converted to Islam.

My family phoned me about a year ago and told me never to contact them again as I now was no longer their sister. I love my family very much and miss them but I know one day we will meet again. Insha Allah.

I was so happy when I received my 'Muslim Identity Card' that I felt like standing on the roof tops and shouting cut to the world that I am a Muslim. I lost my family, but gained a new family in Islam. My new family, the Muslims, were so wonderful, I cannot express it. I would like to make special mention of my appreciation to the Fakrodeen family of Prince Edward St. I love you who treated me as if I was part of the family, May Allah reward you all.

Appa Tasneem Jazakallah, when I am in your Madrasah with all the little ones, it feels like I am in Jannah surrounded by little angels. I am so happy that Allah Taála has chosen me to be a Muslim.

I have worn the Hijaab since I became a Muslim and will never take it out. My only wish is to go to Macca even though I doubt that it will be possible but Insha Allah, one day Allah will provide me with the means to reach there. Each time I want to be closer to Allah, I read the Sunnats of our Beloved Prophet (SAW).

Paper will not be enough for everything that I wish to tell you about Islam. I also want to say Jazakumullah to the Kazi family, and I would like to thank our Úlamas of the Jamiatul Ulama (KZN). And to our brother Ahmad Deedat who is so ill. May Allah Taála cure you and return you back to all of us.

Islam is a way of life. Islam means peace and a Muslim is one who strives for peace through his submission to Allah Taála. A Muslim’s first duty is to Allah the Almighty and it is out of your deep love for Allah that your duties become acts of devotion.

It is no easy task for me as a white Muslim lady, living amongst Christians, but I keep my head up high and I am so very proud to be a Muslim. So, my dear brothers and sisters if you are born Muslim but have not a been dutiful one it is not too late. If you have not started yet, you can start tomorrow or even tonight. Brothers and sisters, as Muslims, keep your heads up high and show the world that you are proud to be Muslims.

Yours Sister-in-Islam
Fathima Lienberg

http://www.jamiat.org.za/al-jamiat/v34newmuslim.html

... subhan'Allah

"... One wants to be a doctor, another a pilot, another an Alim. He notices a small, skinny boy in the corner. He asks him “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The little boy shyly stands up. In a firm voice which belies his slight frame, he replies “I want to be a Mujaahid and die a Shaheed.” The sniggering of the other children is barely concealed. He runs home, where his mother dries his tears and prays that his wish is fulfilled.

Many years later, he travels to the Kashmir valley with its bitter cold and merciless depth. It is a pitch black night, and he is on high alert to every sound in the dark. He struggles to slow the pounding of his heart at every screeching jackal, every mortar fired. Against his will his mind wanders to those he has left behind. Is his daughter missing him? Would he see her again? He worries about his wife’s difficult pregnancy. He remembers her laughter at his corny jokes. His mother fussing about him being too thin; his father’s admonition that his car is a death-trap. It all seems like another life.

The shelling has intensified. As he fires his kalashnikov, he is crying; begging his Lord to grant him the Shahadah he has desired since childhood. The back of his jacket has turned bright red. Bowing down into sujood, he whispers "Allahu Akbar". His soul gently leaves his body to reside in the heart of a green bird in Jannah.

Four thousand miles away, a son is born to him. His family blink back the tears at this tiny mirror image of their son and husband. When the news reaches them of his Shahadah, they are grief-stricken, yet patient at the news. Friends and relatives are amazed at their steadfastness; how they are determined that his children will honour his memory and live up to his example. How they encourage everyone who visits them to support the Jihad with their wealth and their lives.

A few years later, in the same Masjid, another Imam asks another little boy: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The little boy replies “I want to be a Mujaahid and die a Shaheed.” The sniggering of the class is barely concealed, but he doesn’t care. Instead, he thinks about the stories his mother has told him about the father whom he has never met. When these same class-mates will one-day be working in banks and comfortably enjoying the dhunia, he will travel the same journey, fight the same enemy and insha’Allah join his father as a Shaheed.

How are we raising our children?

Author: Unknown

www.Taliban-News.com

"woe to him who tells lies to make people laugh!
